Venombullet666 This album expands nicely upon the releases prior whilst adding some great leads to the mix, it works well and adds a nice additional layer on top of the amazing instrumentals/vocals, this is a great Deathdoom release!

The updated versions of The Right To Crawl and Catatonic are very good examples of showing how far the sound has come for The Crawling and the mix/production for this album is super solid, definitely buy this! Favorite track: The Right To Crawl.

fdmd So straight, yet so elegant.

Michael Randall The album is rich with an honest heartfelt atmosphere, to hear songs of this subject matter with obvious conviction is a welcome surprise. There are moments of heaviness death metal fans can enjoy, but I think the depressed and misanthropic among us will find much more to appreciate here. Favorite track: Catatonic.

Niqlous This album is incredible. Contains ever evolving and shifting rhythm sections topped off with gutteral growls and rasps - love the vocal range displayed through this release. Favorite track: The Right To Crawl.

1.
My only wish is to burn the world Then no one would know what I've done I am the greatest lie i have ever told They only see me after dark, when all is cold This is me with my most sadistic smile. This is me as i walk my most pathetic mile. There are so many faces; how do you know which one speaks? How can you hear their words? They all atone at once. I am the greatest lie i have ever told They only see me after dark, when all is cold This is me with my most sadistic smile. This is me as i walk my most pathetic mile. Forgive me. Forgive me everything. Forgive the things i've done. Forgive the things that have yet to be. Forgive me. Forgive me everything. Forgive the things i've done. Forgive the words i’m about to say.
2.
What joy from the truth? I bring nothing but fear. I bring nothing but sorrow. We live in this room Teeth just lying We have nowhere to go No one to leave. Drowning in horror And you will swallow the sadness Sad for the gloom Inconsolable grief Like catching an ocean Used to walk Used to breathe Now he’s nothing, But he was nothing to me. And he was nothing to you.
3.
Every day i feel it worm inside, Crawling, bleeding through my mind. I’m looking out, and he is looking in Shadows fall; the day is wearing thin. Something watches over us, Like acid on my skin. If i tear out my eyes, can you see? They say you can watch myself through me. I often dream of leaving this behind The devil in the detail; it makes him blind. Face to face, i can separate your soul. Torn neck, i can swallow you whole. Something watches over us, Like acid on my skin. If i tear out my eyes, can you see? They say you can watch myself through me. You took so long; were you talking to god? There's no surprise; so many lies. Something watches over us, Like acid on my skin. If i tear out my eyes, can you see? They say you can watch myself through me.
4.
Crawl into every word. It will gain your trust. Nothing is all that it seems; Eyes that refuse to see. Failure to live in this life That was given to you. Accept, neglect, conform and move on. You will learn. Voices spin round in your head, None of them sounding like you. A crack beginning to form Will bring you slow release. Stuck in rut, thirty years deep, Forget everything that you know. Dirt piles on and the faces will change, Smiles that continue to fail. Failings that continue to grow, Fed by desires to zeal. Words that will cut you like an edge of a knife; Flesh that refuses to heal.
5.
The sight of your painted words sickens me A self fulfilling misery brings content You spread defeat like an antidote to try The only thing you've earned is the right to crawl I can bring you sadness (if you like?) I can show you pain (on faces) I can leave you with the dead (for a while) And they can ask you why you crawl Your effort drags behind with broken legs Crying poverty, pain, anxiety and loss The boy who cried wolf is laughing just for you As you try to walk and are simply left to crawl I feel the sickness rising every time we meet I see me battering your face with the truth I can cripple you with sugar coated lies And finally give you a reason to crawl
6.
I have no use for mirrors anymore There is nothing I want to see I am coiled in barbed wires Every embrace will cut you to the bone I deserve this you know? My daily torment of self loathe Only i should be ruined From now I commit to neglect To hurt myself whenever I can To lash myself with every soft word To break myself on your kisses To kill myself when you're gone
7.
Catatonic 08:33
Helpless and alone, In the emptiness of bones. A year has been and gone, Beating a heart that can’t go on. Eyes stare from the haze, To find a place to call her own. Poison flows through the vein, A deep regret begins to fade. The day takes a hold, Iron grip that breaks the mould. Tears that stain an ageing face, And pave the way; a fall from grace. Searching for strangled hope, Clutching at the throat. Time to mourn for the weak, Leave the wires that tie you down. Silence is killing unsaid words. Ten voices that can’t be heard. I yearn to hear her speak, To say something, so i can breathe. Silence is killing unsaid words. Ten voices that can’t be heard. Listen - i heard her speak, “I miss him. Now let me leave."

about

The Crawling Lisburn, UK

The music created by The Crawling is a result of a trio of music fans that have enjoyed, and participated, in the local music scene for decades.

The collaboration has resulted in a heavy, slow-death ensemble, forged against a back drop of misery and contempt for the world that surrounds us.
